The new year comes with many challenges and our instinct tends to push us into striving for survival. This said, we must be careful not to take our health for granted. There are many health risks and that accompany many of our lifestyles and in order to live a happy and healthy life, we must be aware of these potential risks.

2. Exercise: If you have not been exercising last year, then you must include this in your year’s plan to ensure your health this year. Exercises are beneficial to our health and some of its benefits include; increases in self-confidence, helps fight diseases and obesity, keeps you fit, etc. You can start small and then you’ll see yourself being happier and healthier than you used to be. It is advised that you consult your doctor before doing some kinds of exercises to avoid injury and other health problems.
3. Avoid Unhealthy Lifestyle: Some lifestyles are not just good for our health. Many people seek pleasures of life that will have a long lasting effect on their health with time. Activities like smoking, excessive drinking of alcohol, having unprotected sex, working on our PCs without proper protection for our eyes, eating excessive junk foods, etc. Stopping or minimizing these unhealthy practices will ensure a healthy year for you.
4. Have Enough Rest: This is another critical factor that will ensure a healthy year for people. Not having enough rest is detrimental to our health and could cause constant headaches, fatigue, etc. Set out time to rest well and have fun with your family members, friends and business associates.
5. Eat Healthy: Taking in healthy foods are vital for a healthy year because they provide energy, healthy cell membranes and balance in hormones. Including fruits and vegetables to your meal is also ideal. Fruits like avocado, olives, nuts, etc. Remember to minimize your intake of canned foods or snacks, unhealthy oils, etc.
